What Are You Waiting For?

Did you start this year off with a bang? If so, great, and continue your journey!

But if you were planning to set the world on fire and then somewhere along the way your flame of consistency and dedication began to flicker, do not worry! I am here to help you continue your journey to CRUSH 2024.

At the beginning of your CRUSH 2024 journey, I advised you to take the Kick-It-Up-A-Notch Assessment. Now, if you haven’t taken it yet, or would like to review it, stop reading and click here. Once you have reviewed the assessment, you can return to this point.

What does it mean to kick it up a notch?
Whatever you are doing in life, whether it’s career-wise, exercising, dieting, running a business, providing exceptional customer care, selling solutions, or enjoying the simple life of not having to report to anyone, let me invite you to kick your brilliance and hard work up to another level.

Why is it important to kick it up a notch?
Your future hangs on the door hinges of growth and development. When you stop growing, then you stop living. When you stop living, then you start dying as your mind is now cluttered with the cobwebs of self-limitation. Whatever you’ve done to get to your current level, it’s time to take it to a higher level.

How do you kick it up a notch?
Here are six examples from some brilliant women who were inspired by the kick-it-up-a-notch philosophy and have incorporated this principle into their lives:

“Regarding “kickin’-it-up-a-notch” — the steps I have taken to do this are:
1. I have started an exercise program (one that is manageable).
2. I have been taking the necessary steps to improve my family’s diet.
3. We are reading an inspirational book: Rich Dad Poor Dad.
4. We are making our children aware of their heritage and our values.
5. We’re taking steps to live a debt-free life.”

“In regards to ‘kicking it up a notch’, my plan this week is to self-promote. For over 50 years, I’ve never really celebrated my accomplishments, and often took a back seat while listening to others celebrate theirs. I’ve always allowed my work to ‘speak for itself.’ This no longer works! I now realize in this entrepreneurial society we work in, with the Generation Xers hot on our heels looking for positions and a place at the table, I had better re-introduce myself! I’m working on learning what ‘good bragging’ is and am going to practice the dynamics of adding humor, better eye contact, and self-promotion into my persona.”

“The one thing I’m going to do that I know will benefit me professionally and personally is to take time to read each of your inspirations. When I make, and take, the time to read them, I always walk away with something. I’ve been working 11-hour days and rarely taking lunch. As I sit here at 7:03 p.m. after reading your tip, I’m motivated to do more. But I realize how brilliant I am, and realize it is a Friday night and it’s time to go home.”

“I have been constantly late to my place of employment every day. Even when I was going to be right on time, I would run into traffic and be late, which meant I should have left a little earlier anyway. Part of it is due to my lack of motivation because I am ready to move on to the next assignment. I have decided to stop complaining, stay focused, and get on board with the direction of my company. Since I made the commitment to do better (realizing that my motivation is God wanting me to fulfill his purpose here), I have decided to get to work before 9 a.m. The best part about it is that when I am early, I have time to plan my day.”

“I am going to kick it up a notch by spending time with myself – reading the Bible, reading a magazine, reading a novel, watching the sun rise or set, watching the clouds.

I am fast approaching burnout because of work and the storms, and I need to get my balance back. I plan to actually schedule this time into my day – and keep that appointment!”

“I have rewritten my life mission statement and worked on my two-year goals. These were huge accomplishments for me, which required much soul searching about where my life is.”
