Three Insights from the Leonardo DaVinci of Cakes

Sylvia Weinstock is 87-years-young, and for the last 35 years, she’s been known in celebrity circles as the Leonardo DaVinci of Cakes.

Sylvia has created some of the most exquisite works of art from flour, water, and sugar for the top 1%, A-Listers, and who’s-who from around the world. I recently sat down with her and asked to know her three key tips for success. Here’s what she shared:

  1. It could be worse! Anyone who wakes up in America complaining that they didn’t get their Chai Latte from Starbucks, favorite parking space, or a reservation at a top-notch restaurant, should just remember – it could be worse.
  2. Be Grateful. Stop right now and take out a sheet a paper, your smart phone, and a pen. Set the clock on your phone for 30 seconds. Hit go on the clock and write down on the sheet of paper everything that you are most grateful for at this season of your life. For example, I am grateful for good health, mental stability, respectful children, and work that I love. What are you most grateful for?
  3. Expect something amazing to happen today. Set the thermostat to happiness and watch your life rise to the occasion.

I am forever blessed by these simple yet memorable insights for life.
